ALEXANDER THE GREAT…. ALEXANDER THE GREAT, Emperor of Greece, wanted to conquer India; but he said he would not be at war with Indians; he will win them over in other ways. His people who knew much about the WISDOM of Sadhus and Saints or wise men from India, asked him to bring back one such person so that they could learn something from him. He met a Saint sitting in meditation under a tree, and he invited him to go with him to Greece, promising him all the comforts of a Palace. The Saint declined saying he has everything he desires in India. He has no need to go with him to Greece .This Angered Alexander who pronounced that he would have the Saint cut to pieces. The Saint replied “You can not cut me up. All you can do is cut my body. Also you a slave, a slave of my slave. My slave is Anger and you are a slave of Anger. You are therefore a slave of my slave.”
SELF RESPECT…..
ON ONE OCCASION, Rajendra Prasad, The first President of India wanted to tender his resignation in order to preserve his Self Respect. Before doing so, he felt duty bound to first consult and inform Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhiji told him “If it were somebody else, I would not have intervened, but for you, Rajendraji, I have to. You have always put the country, its people and the entire Nation before your Self respect.-you cannot therefore resign.” Rajendraji followed Gandhiji’s advice. DADA VASWANI.

THE STORY OF ASTOR… An elderly couple was desperately in need of a hotel room .The hotel was fully booked, but considering the plight of this elderly couple on a rainy night, the manager called the house-keeping team and asked them to clean up his own room which he gave to them. A year later this elderly couple built a hotel in the same city. No advert was placed for a manager because they appointed Astor as the manager. Some years later .Astor actually bought the hotel .The Astoria Group of Hotels are now famous the world over. True Story.
